Nothing welcomes the holiday season like a festive home with cozy fireplaces adorned with seasonal bounty, Christmas trees that glisten and glow, candied fruits, and delightfully creative cocktails that can bring a smile to the face of any old Scrooge! Most are busy decorating their homes instead of selling them, however, come the new year expect a lot of fabulous new inventory to enjoy.


I’ve been reading about the many comparisons of today’s economic environment to the period post World War 1 that featured a war (World War I) and a pandemic (Spanish flu) which was also a time riddled with supply-chain issues. Pointing to the impact of electricity, the telephone, and the automobile also made it the most prolific period for innovation in history.


Inflation went from 24% in June 1920 to MINUS 15% (deflation) in June 1921 and then came the roaring 20's (Marketwatch).
